Clínica Médica General was founded in 1986 by Dr. Daniel Dunkelman. Dr. Dunkelman is a board certified general surgeon who was Chief Resident in surgery at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. Our first medical center and the company headquarters is located in Los Angeles across the street from MacArthur Park. Over the years we have added 5 other locations, 2 state-of-the-art surgery centers, a full-service licensed lab, an x-ray department, cosmetic surgery and an Independent Practice Association or IPA that contracts with the insurance companies.

Our medical centers are one-stop multi-specialty centers providing comprehensive outpatient services. We have been proudly serving the Hispanic Community for 20 years. As a result of the quality of our care and the sophistication of our surgery centers, pioneering work in laser surgery we are commonly known as "the one with the laser."

We also have a successful partnership with Health Net on the first Latino insurance plan called “Salud con Health Net,” a low cost health insurance plan to help cover the medical needs of the Hispanic community.
